Lessons in Modern Guitar, Harmony and Improvisation Techniques
The course can be conceived as a path that I divide into two major parts.
The part I call "Shapes".
In this part you will learn how musical elements take shape on the guitar fretboard and manifest themselves through well-defined geometries and paths.
You will learn the logic through which the different ways of fingering the main scales and the ways derived from them are obtained, and you will have full awareness of the chords, also carrying out an in-depth study of triads, seventh revolutions and arpeggios.
You will be guided in handling this material both from a rhythmic and a harmonic point of view.
At the same time you will begin to read and write music and I will put you to the test by submitting to you specific didactic material developed in the field during the various experiences accumulated both in the recording studio and on tour (scores, small arrangements, bases on which to record guitars etc etc)
The part I call "Harmony and Improvisation Techniques".
In this part we will put into practice the material you already know now!
We will analyze the behavior of a melodic line given a certain harmonic structure, paying close attention to improvisation in relation to the main cadences and to all the "standard" structures that manifest themselves in practically all the facets of musical creation.
You will learn a real "language" that will try to always remain open, transversal and multi-stylistic.
Speaking of "Modern Guitar" therefore, we refer to a language that certainly takes into account the concepts of "Pronunciation" and "Swing" (typical of the teaching of "Jazz Guitar") but which also takes into account the tradition of Blues. , as well as the technical innovation of Rock, as well as pronunciations imported from Country, Flamenco, Gipsy Jazz, Fingerstyle, Popular Music, passing through the rhythmic vastness of the so-called "Latin" music and with an eye always turned to 'use of techniques (especially for the right hand "borrowed directly from the" Classical Guitar "teaching studies.
A way, therefore, to turn to all Music with a vision as broad as possible ... a path that, especially in a historical period in which everything merges and globalizes, can put you in your hands concrete tools to be able to navigate in a comfortable all the seas where the guitar can lead us!
